Pet Insurance How does pet insurance work?
Pet insurance is not the same as human insurance. It is a reimbursement of previously paid services.
- Choose a provider and a plan
- Wait for the policy to take effect
- Receive claim forms, or print forms online from your insurance provider
- Bring your claim forms to your appointment, the doctor will provide a diagnosis and signature
- Provide payment to your veterinarian for that day's services
- Send in your claim forms
- Receive a check back three to four weeks from service
